Exceptional accomodation & breakfast. Hosts Glen & Susan made us feel very welcome and at home.The only other thing that could have made our stay more exceptional would be if laundry facility at the premise was available as we were not allowed to wash any clothes onsite

Just stayed one night at storrs gate but we will return again soon. We received a warm friendly welcome, nothing was too much trouble for our lovely hosts, the property is gorgeous set in lovely gardens with guest parking.Our room was very clean and comfortable with lots of attention to detail particularly enjoyed the gorgeous white company toiletries 😊.Breakfast was delicious and all home made top quality produce and location excellent just a 5 min walk to marina and 20 min to bowness. Amazing boutique/Victorian guest house. Susan and Glen are both very welcoming and friendly hosts. We stayed in the Victorian sweet and couldn't be more thrilled the room was spacious and a good comfortable night's sleep. Location was perfect only half a mile walk to the lake where there are plenty of amazing restaurants, bars & shops to spend hours wandering around.

Really lovely stay for 3 nights. Room was much better than we expected! Immaculately clean, good furnishings, four poster bed, huge with a separate dressing area. Me amd my partner stayed over the weekend, we were made to feel so welcome as soon as we arrived, Susan showed us around and then to our room which was so comfortable with an en suite shower and toilet. Glen does a spot on full English breakfast, also had a fruit and yoghurt starter, full pot of coffee amd fresh orange or apple juice. We enjoyed our stay so much we ended uo staying an extra night. My wife and I have just returned from a 2 night stay here and we could not fault it.So picturesque on arrival and when the front door opened it only got better - it was stunning, absolutely beautiful and you could feel the love and warmth.Room was beautifully decorated, clean and bright.The hosts were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was a bother. Room, bed, shower, breakfast were perfect, Glenn and Susann are the loveliest people we have ever met. Service was impeccable, friendly and homely all in one. Loved the location which is a short walk from Bowness, but a good distance away from the bustling bit! Can't ask for more. Always book directly on their website!

Had an excellent 2 night stay pre Easter bank holiday. Met by Susanne on arrival made us feel welcome.She gave us a choice of 2 rooms both were lovely rooms but the one we chose was an upgrade and was more spacious with a Juliet balcony and a four poster bed.The rooms and guest house was spotless.Breakfast was amazing and they couldn’t do enough to accommodate you.Downside is the walk into bowness which takes 15 mins but does help in working of the calories after breakfast.Would definitely stay again.

My partner and i habe jist had a 2 night stay here and it was everything we wanted and more.We arrived and parked onsite, went in and had the most warmest of greetings from oir wooderful hosts.We where shown around and our breakfst orders taken and whisked upstairs to our room.i booked the fourposter and it was beautiful.The entire house is spotless and our room was devine. The shower and toilet wjere spootless and roomy. The bed was excellent.The room had a wonderful view of the garden .Tje hpuse is locoated a short walk from themarina and a 15 minute walk to the lake and attractions.The breakfast was utterly stunning and we where caterd for perfectly. The full english was to die for,my partner is vegitarian and had plenty of choice and loved her breakfast.All in all a wnderful place with amazing hoats and i would happily stay again.

We've now stayed at Storrs gate house a nuber of times, and it just better. Fantastic location, around a 15 x minute walk into Bowness centre, to all the bars & restaurants. Rooms are substantial, clean, spacious and certainly won't dissappoint. Breakfast, very generous portions, are very fresh and tastey.Recommended - oh yes.

Susan & Glen have an immaculate, beautiful home which has to be the best accommodation we've stayed at ! Nothing is too much trouble, Glens freshly cooked breakfasts along with fresh fruits, yoghurts, etc… are to die for. Susan is a perfect host & we love her to bits. We stayed for 1 week in Oct 2023 and picked Storrs Gate House for its' location and beautiful rooms.We were not disappointed.We were a party of 4 adults and we each had a room with four poster bed.The rooms and throughout the interior are beautifully furnished and has a wonderful homely feel.Our bedroom (Tudor Room) had the wow factor and also for my parents who stayed in the Victorian Room.The rooms had plenty of room, views onto the garden, very clean and beautifully decorated and furnished.Every breakfast is delicious, plenty of choice and cooked to perfection.Above all are the hosts - Susann & Glenn.They made us feel so welcome, friendly, lively and have so much information and knowledge of the area and where to visit, best routes to take and recommendations for restaurants/places of interest.We feel we have made friends for life.I cannot rate this B&B highly enough.We will definitely return.5 stars and more!!

I'vestayed here before and it was excellent. It is even better now. More choice for breakfast all brought to your table. Didn't realise how beautiful the garden was. A couple of bird feeders attract a diverse array of birds. I was in an attic room but it was a good size. Lovely sized bathroom with a large shower that you could spend hours in. Switch on wait ten seconds then hot water. Lovely. Hosts very friendly and provide plenty of information.

The power shower was to die for!We would highly recommend anyone staying here! This little bed and breakfast beats The Macdonald Hotel and Spa by far!!! And a lot cheaper too! Stayed for 2 nights Excellent accommodation,delicious breakfast,very high quality ingredients and very pleasant hosts.The bedroom was immaculately clean and ample coffee and tea supplied,small fridge in room an excellent touch.Shower stocked with premium shampoo/conditioner body wash and moisturiser. Location is ideal with short walk to marina with bar/restaurant and nearby public slipway with cafe. Picturesque walk of less than a mile along the lake shore footpath to Bowness on Windermere. We highly recommend the Inn. Our hosts were super wonderful and the breakfasts were healthy and tasty! They even drove to the bus stop to return our bag that we left behind by accident. Stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it from the minute we were met at the door by Glenn. We had room number 5 on the top floor to ourselves. Bed was really comfy( wish we had remembered to ask Glenn where they get there bedding from as it was so comfy).The whole property was beautifully decorated throughout. Breakfast was delicious overlooking their beautiful garden. Both Glenn and Suzanne were great hosts and gave us lots of knowledge of the surrounding area. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Suzanne even offered me a pair of socks when my feet got soaked. Allocated parking on site. Bowness is within 15 minute walking distance from Storrs Gate House. Ideally located B&B being a short walk into Bowness via the picturesque marina. Made to feel very welcome from the minute you set foot into this charming property. Great hosts with excellent local knowledge, lovely clean rooms and comfy beds and the best breakfast to start your day. Would not hesitate to book SHG again should we visit Bowness. Home from home in so many ways.

Had a lovely couple of nights at Storrs Gate House. The location is excellent being close to Bowness town centre but far enough away to avoid the crowds and traffic. The house itself is very big and our bedroom suite was huge, with a lovely 4 poster bed. The gardens were amazing, very tranquil and beautifully landscaped with lots of different seating areas. I highly recommend staying here if you're in the Lake Windermere area.

My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon travels. Susann and Glen could not have been more welcoming! They were absolutely lovely. Perfect stay for a trip to Bowness. Room was very spacious (great shower), car parking great on site (able to park as checked in early) which was very helpful. We have recently returned from a 2 night stay at the Storrs Gate House and we would highly recommend it. The owners Susan and Glen are a lovely couple who are so very kind and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location, only a 15 - 20 minute walk into Bowness. Our bedroom and bathroom was spotlessly clean and had everything we could possibly need. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room overlooked their beautiful gardens. We would definitely recommend the Storrs Gate House and hopefully next time we visit we will stay for longer.
